Next Meeting is September 18 at noon at Sharon w/ Rennie

"Shadow of Greenbrier" by Emily Matchar and "The Last of the Moon Girls" by Barbara Davis

September 28 - October 2 at Pat's

Our Sept. meeting was held at the beach.  We had 4 days of beautiful weather, beautiful ocean, fun if not too productive shopping, good company, and plenty of delicious food, from still warm choc. chip cookies to homemade scrapple.  Our book discussion was spirited and covered many topics including organ transplant, loyalty, and monetary impact on healthcare.  The cure for anything is salt water- sweat, tears and the sea.

Ladies, I can't begin to express my disappointment with our trip so far. I don't know when I have taken a trip and been made to feel so unwelcome. I wasn't even given a decent bed to sleep in (stuck in that little room without any regard for my comfort) I'm not one to complain, but the lack of adequate meals is terrible. How are we expected to exist on so little food. I was forced to buy cookies just to keep my strength up. I have been dragged around and been forced to shop against my will, played pickle ball with cheaters who invoked the "pickle ball wind God" in order to win, and was dragged through a sandstorm on the beach and was almost killed by some young gang type car racers. I plan to attend Mass in the morning just to pray for my survival. "Oh Lord, deliver me from this hell and hasten my return to my loving husband who misses me so, in order that I might tenderly care for him and provide him with healthy meals, amen". Carol

Dear Carol
I will try to make the rest of your trip everything you had hoped it to be. I am sorry but I do not have any control over the accommodations. Our hostess should have made your comfort her first priority. However, dear you do need to remember it is not all about you. Sorry you are not getting enough
to eat. Perhaps, if you had organized the food contributions better you would
Not have had to deal with that hardship. You are probably experiencing all of these feelings because you are homesick. I know how hard it is for you to be away from Doug for any length of time. Please let me know what I can do to make the rest of your time here at the beach
More comfortable and enjoyable. I will pray for you at church this morning.
I just wish you did not include Pat in this e-mail, you may have sent her over the deep end knowing one of her guests was unhappy.
Love from your bestie
Grace

Ladies, I must admit that I am appalled at the treatment my poor Sister has received. I can only hope that you can find it in your hearts to treat her more gently in the future just like I always have!!! She is used to being tenderly nourished at my hands and I hate to see her exposed to this harsh treatment. She is such a kind soul. (remember how she shared her cookies that she bought with her own two hands)!!! I have watched her loving care of her sweet husband over the years so I can assure you she deserves everything she has coming to her in return!!!! Thank you in advance for taking care of my loyal, little Sister!!!
Love, Edna

I liked the blueberry cobbler, painting my nails, Pat's thought that an outfit (scarf and blouse was stylish perhaps "pour moi?", sleeping in the hallway?tv room, CAMEL HUNt game, jigsaw puzzle completion, sitting for awhile on the cold beach, gathering again with friends with lots of opinions and stories, walking around the block with Pam, and almost meeting a guy at the gas station!!! and til next year, Alice
